Get rid of tracking cookies with Nixory

Clear cookies

A cookie, in the internet terminology, is a piece of text which your browser stores on your computer when requested by a website you are visiting. Cookies can be used in different useful ways: for authentication, for storing site preferences, for shopping cart contents, but can be also used by companies in less useful places. For example, they can use cookies to track your computer data and IP adress for marketing purposes, putting your privacy at risk.

Nixory will protect your browser from this kind of malicious tracking cookies.

It will remove tracking cookies only when your browser will allow Nixory to do so, therefore it will not interfere or slow down web browsing. And it's so light-weight that you won't even notice it's there!

Frequently asked questions

Q: Is Nixory an Antispyware Program?

A: Well, yes and no.
Nixory is NOT a fully functional antispyware application like SpyBot, Spy Sweeper or AdAware, which means it cannot protect you from viruses, trojans or other kind of malware. Nixory specifically protects you from one kind of spyware, that is, tracking cookies.

Q: Is Nixory compatible with other antispyware and antivirus products?

A: Yes. You can use it together with other protection suites.

Q: When I start a scan Nixory warns me that it wasn't able to access some profiles, even if I've closed all my browsers. Is it a bug?

A: No, it's not. Nixory has probabily detected profiles of other users in your computer (such as Administrator) which are not accessible from your system user. Just disable such profiles in the preferences to safely get rid of this warning.

Q: I cannot find my firefox profile cookies.sqlite file... where is it?

A: Nixory will try to find it for you when you run it for the first time or using the parameter "-auto". If you still cannot see your profile in the list please read this page.

Q: I cannot find my internet explorer Cookies directory... where is it?

A: Again, Nixory will try to find it for you when you run it for the first time or using the parameter "-auto". If you still cannot see your profile, you can add it manually with the preferences window and it should be located in C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies (Win Vista/7) or C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSER\Cookies. (Win XP)
